Certifications and Licenses

Phoenix was established in 1998 by the owner and principal geologist, Daniel Yonker. With over 20 years of experience, we have addressed a wide variety of oil spill scenarios ranging in severity. Our team stays up to date with the evolving State regulations and maintains the following licenses and certifications. This includes accruing continuing education credits as required by the State regulatory program.      

  • Phoenix Consulting is certified in Subsurface Evaluation. Subsurface Evaluator is a license issued by the NJDEP and is specific to the evaluation and remediation of residential oil releases.  
  • All of our field personnel have received Site Remediation training and the OSHA 40-hour Certification.
  • In addition to a Subsurface Evaluator License, a Phoenix employee has obtained their Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) License as per the Site Remediation Reform Act N.J.S.A. 58.10C -1 (“SRRA”).
  • In addition, key Phoenix personnel hold the following certifications:
    • Tank Closure certifications
    • NJDEP Technical Regulations and Sampling Procedures training
    • CPR, First Aid, Confined Space Rescue
    • Groundwater Sample Collection using the Low-Flow Sampling Technique under an NJDEP-mandated certification
